A main aviation hub of Hawaii and one of the busiest airports in the United States of America, Honolulu International Airport welcomes more than 20 million passengers annually to its three terminals. The airport is spacious and modern, serving a number of flights to inter-island, US and many international destinations.
The Main Overseas Terminal is the most equipped, with plenty of hi-tech facilities for passengers. ATMs and bureaux de change are located throughout all terminals while postal facilities and medical care can be found at the Main Terminal. A 24-medical clinic is also located here.
There are many eating options provided at the airport including a variety of fast food chains, restaurants, cafés, bars and an ice-cream parlour. There's also a food court boasting a wide range of cuisines.
Those wishing to shop can find newsagents, gift shops and flower stalls in all terminals, while duty-free shopping is only at the Main Terminal exclusive for those traveling overseas.
The Main Overseas Terminal is home to a fully-equipped Business Centre which features telephone, fax, photocopying, internet services and postal facilities. Four conference rooms can be found at the Garden Conference Centre, while conference facilities are also provided at the Inter-island Terminal.
Transportation at Honolulu International Airport
Honolulu International Airport is conveniently linked to downtown Honolulu by a variety of transport. There are two bus services that operate to the city and its neighbouring areas.
If you have booked your hotel room, it is also a good idea to ask for courtesy shuttles. Most of the big hotels in Honolulu and Waikiki usually offer this service for their guests. Various limousine operators such as Cloud 9 Limousine Inc., Elite Limousine Service, Hawaii Chauffeur & Limo Services Inc. also provide luxury rides downtown.
Alternatively, you can also take a taxi from in front of the Baggage Claim areas to your destination. You can also book in advance by calling Cab at: +1 808 422 2222, which is the main taxi operator from the airport into town.
Parking at Honolulu International Airport
Those wishing to park their car at the airport are given choices of parking options. Both long-term and short-term parking can be found in garages and surface car parks. The first 30 minutes of parking is free. Disabled parking is also available.
The garages are mostly for short-term parking. The Main Terminal is connected to a garage by a walkway. The Inter-island Terminal also has its own garage. The surface car parks, located near garages, are usually for long-term parking. These car parks are located within a short walk from the terminals.
