A compact, single-terminal airport serving both domestic and international flights, Indianapolis International Airport is very easy to navigate. There are four concourses: A, B, C and D, all fully equipped with facilities for passengers. As the airport is small, it takes only about 10 minutes to walk from one end of the building to the other.
There are storage lockers provided post-security checkpoints on concourses A and C. Luggage carts are also available for a small fee, part of which is given back when you return the cart. ATMs and bank services are scattered througout the airport while a Travelex desk offers currency exhange services.
Many eateries can be found around the airport, including American favourites TGI Fridays and Starbucks. The airport also boasts an observation deck area where you can relax and enjoy the view while waiting to board.
Duty free shopping is located on concourses A and C while other small shops can be found throughout the building such as newsagents, gift shops and small cosmetic shops.
Those wishing to use business facilities can rent a boardroom, available at the ticket area while US airways have club rooms for rent on Concourse D. Telephones equipped with fax machines and internet access points are provided throughout the terminal.
Transportation at Indianapolis International Airport
There are many ways to get to the city from Indianapolis International Airport. The Airport City bus service heads downtown from the main entrance. The services are very frequent, cheap and reliable.
A shared van is also available if you travel in a big group while those wishing to rent a car can easily follow the signs from the airport. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the city.
Taxi drivers usually wait for passengers directly outside the terminal. The ride to the city takes about 20 minutes and is charged by meter.
Parking at Indianapolis International Airport
Passengers can choose to use short-term, long-term, valet or economy parking at the airport. The parking building is located close to the main terminal building and is linked by walkways.
Premier Class Parking is also available in front of the long-term parking lot. There's free shuttle bus provided to take you to the terminal.
Those wishing to park their car for a long period can always opt to leave their car in the economy car park, which is much cheaper. There are designated areas for passengers with special needs in every parking lot.
